Hi All

If I want to push my web-site higher on the search engine what can I do? Does having a signature with my posts help each time I post or is this signature just for people who look at the post? I own a driving school and I am on page 2 on a lot of my local searches or on the bottom of page 1. How can I push on to get a little closer to the top? I also post on some local forums and I'm wondering the same thing. Is this going to help my page ranking or has it no effect on my web-site ranking. I'm not really sure what's helping? I have marketing companies calling me every week offering to get my web-site to the top of google listings but they are very expensive and I've been warned that it won't last unless I keep paying top dollar.
Any advise on these dilemmas is very welcome. Thanks

Hi Pferris,
Yes link building is vital to getting to number 1 on the search engines. Try exchanging links with other webmasters, submitting articles to directories, reputable links directories, social media such as Facebook, Twitter etc. The more links you get from reputable websites the better you will rank. Tumblr and Squidoo are two of my favourite sites for getting some good links quickly also.

One simple suggestion - but will make a significant difference to results - I would change your signature above and anywhere else you have it referenced to the keyword your are targeting. which looks like "Driving Lessons Swords" - so the text above in your signature should be as follows: Driving Lessons Swords . This is important as it tells Google what keyword you are competing for and is especially important as topclass.ie doesn't identify what your website offers.

Hope this helps.

Good advice there !

You should always try and use a key word rich topic title when posting in forums as the topic title will also appear in the posting URL as in "Google Position" in this post.

Kind regards,

Stuart

You need to study and select some keywords that are related to your site such as your domain and add them to your website. Then submit it to search engine. After a time, it may come in top 1 from the search result.

Thanks a million for all your advice. I'm confused about the signature. If I take out my web-site and put in Driving School Swords how does this create a link to my web-site? I thought that having my signature as topclass.ie was how I created the link? If I have my web site address in my profile but not my signature that will still create a link ?
Thanks again for your inputs

Hi all

As you can see I've fixed up my signature and would like to thank you for that advice. I can now see how this should make a big impact. Cheers

Hi all,

I'm trying to create links in some articles on Facebook but they keep come up with the code rather than the link. I've put in Driving Lessons Malahide or DublinDrivingSchool and while it works fine here. Does this not work on Facebook or is there something I'm missing?
Thanks
