Press Release 16 April 2012

Begins

Innovative new website www.discoverwestcork.com to market

West Cork Tourism in UK and Ireland

Discover West Cork.Com is an innovative new website based on the Trip Advisor model which will allow West Cork Tourism Providers to engage with West Cork tourists in free to join online forums.

The Forums will all be moderated by local experts in particular parts of West Cork and also local experts in specialist activities such as Whale Watching, Hill Walking, Sailing and Golf.

Any registered member of the forum may create a free listing for a Tourism provider or Activity Centre, award from 1 to 5 stars and post feedback. Tourism Providers may either create a free listing or claim an existing listing in order to talk directly online to their clients.

Speaking at the recent launch of the site in Kinsale, Discover West Cork.Com Director Stuart McNamara highlighted the innovative approach taken by the site.

“Discover West Cork.Com is now live and active. We also have www.discoverwestcork.co.uk marketing West Cork Tourism directly to the UK and www.discoverwestcork.ie targeting the home or Irish market.

The site is based on the Trip Advisor model. We build an online community of registered forum members composed of both West Cork Tourism providers and Visitors. Registration is completely free.

Any registered member (Tourism provider or customer) may upload unlimited relevant listings and links for Hotels, B and Bs, Self Catering, Restaurants, Visitor Attractions and Activities etc. Business Owners may then manage their Listings on Discover West Cork.Com and engage with feedback from their customers.

All Links are "Do Follow" which gives you back link credit, increasing your own website's standing with Google. All Forum entries and links on our site are also automatically posted on Facebook at www.facebook.com/DiscoverWestCork and on Twitter @DiscoverWCork. This saves a lot of time for busy tourism providers who wish to promote themselves on multiple social media.”

Discover West Cork.Com is also affiliated with Gulliver, the respected Irish booking engine.

Mr. McNamara emphasised the need for cooperation between West Cork Tourism providers.

If you like our work and what we are building, you can assist us in two ways.

Firstly tell your friends or pass on the word about Discover West Cork.Com to your fellow West Cork Tourism providers.

Secondly, we are looking for two types of moderators in our online visitor forums. We need a small panel of local area experts for each area who are willing to post in our area Forums (Clonakilty, Skibereen, Beara, Kinsale, Glandore etc....) to promote their part of West Cork and share their expert local knowledge with prospective visitors. We can add additional areas if required.

We also need a small panel of Activity Experts to perform the same function in activities such as sailing, whale watching, watersports, diving, angling, hill walking, local history, etc.

If you would like to be considered as a Discover West Cork.Com Moderator, first register for free in our forums at www.discoverwestcork.com and then contact us through the internal on site messaging system. Experience in Social media such as Facebook and Twitter is desirable.

We are also building a West Cork Tourism Marketing Group on Linked In at Discover West Cork.Com on Linked In. Feel free to join and network with us and the other tourism marketeers from West Cork.”
