We have been busy shooting videos for the range of new products that we added over the last couple of weeks, the most exciting one of which is our new Ethernet Homeplugs. We added them just to see how they would go. There is increasingly an overlap between digital & satellite tv sytems and home networking. Some Satellite Receivers now come with an etherent port to allow streaming from both the interent and from your computer equipment. Also with everyone seeing to have a media player these days, it seemed like a good idea to us to add the home plug sets.

Homeplugs remove the need to run extra cabling through your home or office while still being able to distribute your broadband signal. Of course you could do it wirelessly too but not every one is comfortable with this and there are of course instances where you might want the internet in a dead wifi area, so the homeplugs are ideal in these circumstances.

We just want to give a quick mention to our new foray into the UK Satellite Finders market. We have been increasingly getting sales on these Sat finders from mainland UK customers. Even with the shipping cost, they explained that the S10 SmartMeter is far cheaper than any equivalent Professional Sat Finder over there. So with this in mind, we created a website especially for UK customers to sell the S10 Meter.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we at TvTrade have signed an exclusivity deal with one of Germany's largest electronics manufacturers Xoro to supply their range of receivers in Ireland. We already the fantastic Xoro 3000 Free to Air Satellite Receiver on sale but after signing our deal, we can now proudly add the Xoro 8520 HD Satellite Receiver to our range. One of the best feature of Xoro is that one of their main businesses is media players and as such, they have integrated a high quality MP into their range of receivers. Any HD box from Xoro will also play MKV files also. There is, quite simply, nothing else in the market to compare to Xoro in it's price range. To that end, we are please to announce that we can offer the lowest cost Saorview Compatible box on the market. It's the Xoro 7510. Apart from being Mpeg4 and HD compatible, it also has brilliant PVR features built in (with the addition of a USB powered External Hard Drive) and integrated Media Player. Another massive plus point for the Xoro DTT Box is that is has a front facing USB port unlike so many other boxes on the market making it far more convenient to use your external HDD with the box.

There is an exciting development in Free to air satellite systems today. As of March 10th 2011, Channel 4 will be broadcast in HD for the first time on Free to Air. This will add to the current HD channels BBC1 HD, ITV HD and BBC HD. C4 HD will need to be manually tunes into your free to air HD Satellite Receiver and you can find the procedure below.

Another quick post regarding the dropping of the ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4 Tv stations by UPC. From today April 1st(not a joke), UPC are dropping these stations. For more read our blog UPC Loses Rights to ITV2, ITV3 & ITV4

This is a disaster for UPC, with the every growing Free to Air TV sector sure to capitalise on this.

Another quickie to let people know that we have just put up the most comprehensive guide to getting free view in Ireland. We have spent weeks researching this. It's not simple, I can tell you. But in the end we have created a simple guide that the average Joe Bloggs will understand and for you convenience, we have created Ireland's first Freeview & Saorview combo Kit to allow you to get all the UK Freeview & Irish Saorview channels on one receiver. Truely the best of both worlds.

I just want to use this opportunity to give a quick mention of a local company who helped us out greatly recently. We had a bit of tip in our installation van recently and Frans Crash Repairs in Portlaosie sorted us in a very timely manner. We found them to very very helpful and really couldn't recommend them enough for repairing your vehicle in the case of a accident.

We just did up a handy guide to Free TV in ireland in our ever growing blog. The market for free TV in ireland is growing at a massive rate and we felt that it would be a good idea to do up a guide to getting TV for Free. Included in the guide are the pros and cons so the reader can make an informed decision.

Just want to give a quick plug (if you'll excuse the pun) to our fantastic new homeplugs that we have just signed the distribution deal for. The are made by solwise, one of the leading manufacturers of networking equipment in Europe. We did a lot of research into the area of etherent over mains adaptors over the last while and found that these were the best in the prioce range we were aiming at. RF interference is a crital factor when buying homeplugs and we found these to give off among the lowest interference of the models we tested. Check em out.
